How to remove funds from the DM500, DM800i, DM925, DM1000 and more

Products affected: DM500™, DM525™, DM550™, DM575™, DM800™, DM800i™, DM825™, DM875™, DM900™, DM925™, DM1000™, DM1100™
To deactivate and remove the funds from the meter:
  1. Press Menu.
  2. Press the down arrow.
  3. Select Setup.
  4. Press the down arrow.
  5. Select Take Meter Out of Service.
When successfully taken out of service, the meter will display Out of Service and the remaining funds will show $0.00.

The funds that were removed from the meter will be transferred back to the account or credit card they were originally taken from.

If you cannot connect to Pitney Bowes through your meter, or if the meter has a blank screen, you will not be able to deactivate and remove the funds from the meter. Return the defective meter to Pitney Bowes, and we will credit the funds to your account within 7 - 10 business days after we receive the meter.
