Using the License Server Utility log to determine time intervals in MapInfo Pro

Product Affected: MapInfo Pro™, MapInfo Pro License Server Utility™
This article explains MapInfo Pro and using the License Server Utility log to determine time intervals.
The values in the LSU log for a License Server Utility can be used to determine daily usage and tracking purposes over a 24 hour period.

This information comes from Flexera, the company that creates the Licensing used within MapInfo Pro and specifically for interpreting the values in the log file of the License Server Utility (LSU)).

***********
The "TIMESTAMP" word shown in in the LSU log gets populated when a vendor daemon logs this message at regular intervals. The default interval between vendor daemon timestamps is 6 hours 5 minutes.

A license server manager (lmadmin or lmgrd) logs this message at
regular intervals. The default interval between license server
manager timestamps is 6 hours."

So there will be an entry like "23:04:08 (lmgrd) TIMESTAMP 5/26/2015" every six hours. The date and time can be determined from it with the caveat whenever lmgrd("MapInfo License Server" service) is restarted the clock will start from there.
