How to prepare for the SHA-256 changes in GeoStan

Product Feature: GeoStan

Operating System: z/OS, Windows, UNIX, HP-UX, AIX, Solaris, Linux

In compliance with the USPS® mandated August 1, 2017 implementation date for SHA-256 changes, customers using DPV, LACSLink, and SuiteLink data products will need to upgrade to the Spring 2017 release software in order use these files beginning with the August 2017 data release.
Are there test files available in SHA-256 format? Will there be parallel files available in both old and new formats for any months prior to August 2017?

We do not have a test file available. We recommend that customers install the new software and perform the usual acceptance testing with the most current version of the data. This will allow customers to understand the impact of the software changes for this release. There are no special steps needed to use the updated data format that will begin in August, so the change should be seamless if customers have already updated their software.

Fulfillment doesn’t have a mechanism for providing two different versions of the files, and the USPS will only be providing a single file beginning in August. Therefore, beginning with the August data release only the new version will be available.
