How to edit, split and void transactions in Business Manager

Learn how to edit, split and void transactions in Business Manager.

Note: In order to use Manage Transactions feature, the Business Manager user account must have Operator rights or higher. If you do not have Operator rights contact your manager.

To edit a transaction
  1. Open Business Manager and sign in.
  2. Select Transaction > Manage Transactions.
  3. Select Grid view (Each transaction) for Displayed columns.
  4. Select the Start and End date range.
  5. (Optional) To filter the results, use the Analysis Period menu.
  6. Select Show.
  7. Select the desired transaction and select Options, or right-click on the transaction and select Edit.
  8. Editable options:
    • Select Account: Move transaction to different account
    • Change Base Details: Edit transaction base amount, number of pieces, unit weight and upper bound
    • Change Fee Amounts: Edit service fee amount
    • Change Rates and Fees: Edit carrier, class and fees
    • Workstation Surcharge: Edit workstation surcharge
    • Preset: Edit preset
    • Job: Edit job
    • User defined job: Edit user defined job
  9. Select OK to confirm the changes.

To void a transaction
  1. Open Business Manager and sign in.
  2. Select Transaction > Manage Transactions.
  3. Select Grid view (Each transaction) for Displayed columns.
  4. Select the Start and End date range.
  5. (Optional) To filter the results, use the Analysis Period menu.
  6. Select Show.
  7. Select the desired transaction and select Options, or right-click on the transaction and select Void.
  8. Select Confirm.

To split a transaction
  1. Open Business Manager and sign in.
  2. Select Transaction > Manage Transactions.
  3. Select Grid view (Each transaction) for Displayed columns.
  4. Select the Start and End date range.
  5. (Optional) To filter the results, use the Analysis Period menu.
  6. Select Show.
  7. Select the desired transaction and select Options, or right-click on the transaction and select Split.
  8. Enter number of piece for Number of mail pieces in this new transaction.
  9. Select an account and select Confirm.
Note: When making any changes in Business Manager through this method, Business Manager will keep the original entry but then create another entry that voids it. Then new entries are made that show the changes requested, so that all information is retained.
