Turning off sleep mode on a Brother QL-800 or QL-1100 printer for SendPro Online

Products affected: SendPro® Online

By default the Brother QL-800 and QL-1100 printers turn off after 60 minutes of non-use. Printing to it while asleep does not automatically wake up the printer. It must be turned back on manually with the power button. To disable this feature:

Windows

  1. Go to support.brother.com.
  2. Select Downloads.
  3. Enter the model number of the printer, such as QL-800 or QL-1100 and select Search.
  4. Select QL-800 Downloads on our Online Solution Center or QL-1100 Downloads on our Online Solution Center.
  5. Select the correct operating system, then select Search.
  6. Select Printer Setting Tool under Utilities.
  7. Select Agree to the EULA and Download. The file will be downloaded to your computer's Downloads folder.
  8. Go to your Downloads folder and open the file you just downloaded. The installer will begin automatically.
  9. When the installer says Installation complete, select Finish.
  10. Go to Windows Start > All Programs > Brother > Label & Mobile Printer > Printer Setting Tool.
  11. Select Device Settings.
  12. From the Auto Power On menu, select On.
  13. From the Auto Power Off(AC/DC) menu, select None.
  14. Select Apply.
  15. Select Exit.
  16. Select Exit again.

Mac

  1. Go to support.brother.com.
  2. Select Downloads.
  3. Enter the model number of the printer, such as QL-800 or QL-1100 and select Search.
  4. Select QL-800 Downloads on our Online Solution Center or QL-1100 Downloads on our Online Solution Center.
  5. Select the correct operating system, then select Search.
  6. Select Printer Setting Tool under Utilities.
  7. Select Agree to the EULA and Download. The file will be downloaded to your computer's Downloads folder.
  8. Go to your Downloads folder and open the file you just downloaded.
  9. Open Brother PrinterSettingTool.pkg.
  10. Select Continue.
  11. Select Continue again.
  12. Select Agree.
  13. Select Install.
  14. The installer may ask for your Mac system login and password.
  15. When the installation is complete, select Close.
  16. Go to Go > Applications > Brother > Printer Setting Tool.
  17. From the Auto Power on menu, select Enable.
  18. From the Auto Power Off(AC/DC) menu, select None.
  19. Select Apply Settings to the Printer.
  20. Select Exit.
