By default the Brother QL-800 printer turns off after 60 minutes of non-use. Printing while the printer is asleep does not automatically wake it up. It must be turned back on manually with the power button. To disable this feature:
Windows
- Go to support.brother.com.
- Select Downloads.
- Enter the model number of the printer, QL-800, and select Search.
- Select the correct operating system, then select OK.
- Select Printer Setting Tool under Utilities.
- Select Agree to the EULA and Download. The file will be downloaded to your computer's Downloads folder.
- Go to your Downloads folder and open the file you just downloaded. The installer will begin automatically.
- When the installer says Installation complete, select Finish.
- Go to Windows Start > All Programs > Brother > Printer Setting Tool.
- Select Device Settings.
- From the Auto Power On menu, select On.
- From the Auto Power Off(AC/DC) menu, select None.
- Select Apply.
- Select Exit.
- Select Exit again.
Mac
- Go to support.brother.com.
- Select Downloads.
- Enter the model number of the printer, QL-800, and select Search.
- Select the correct operating system, then select OK.
- Select Printer Setting Tool under Utilities.
- Select Agree to the EULA and Download. The file will be downloaded to your computer's Downloads folder.
- Go to your Downloads folder and open the file you just downloaded.
- Open Brother PrinterSettingTool.pkg.
- Select Continue.
- Select Continue again.
- Select Agree.
- Select Install.
- The installer may ask for your Mac system login and password.
- When the installation is complete, select Close.
- Go to Go > Applications > Brother > Printer Setting Tool.
- From the Auto Power on menu, select Enable.
- From the Auto Power Off(AC/DC) menu, select None.
- Select Apply Settings to the Printer.
- Select Exit.
