"Error fired in : Module MNTools - Class bas_DatabasesJET" message in Business Manager

Issue

When opening Business Manager, Business Manager stops when opening the TA database and the following errors are displayed:

  • MNTools * Error fired in : Module MNTools - Class bas_DatabasesJET - Function Generation_Structure_Base_JET Error fired : Number 3343 Source DAO.Indexes Description Unrecognized database format 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Pitney Bowes\Business Manager\bases-l\Buffer.mdb'.
  • MNTools * Error fired in : Module MNTools - Class bas_DatabasesJET - Function Generation_Structure_Base_JET Error fired : Number 91 Source MNServices Description Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Cause

On January 8, 2019, Microsoft released the following updates that caused issues with opening Business Manager:

  • Windows 7: KB4480970
  • Windows 10: KB4480966

Resolution

Microsoft has released new KB update to fix this problem. Run Windows Update to download the KB update below for your operating system:
