Clearing "Ink Out" or "Ink tank not installed" error message on the SendPro C/SendPro+

Products affected: SendPro® C /SendPro®+ (2H00, 8H00)

Issue

Your SendPro C/SendPro+ device displays the "Ink Out" or "Ink tank not installed" error message.

Cause

  • No ink remaining
  • Damaged ink cartridge connector pins
  • Dirt on the printhead or faulty printhead

Resolution

UPDATED: May 12, 2020
Solution 1 - Device is out of ink
  1. Install a new ink cartridge. Refer to Related topics for information on installing a new ink cartridge.

Solution 2 - You have installed a new ink cartridge and are still getting Ink out message
  1. Print a test pattern. Refer to Related topics for information on printing a test pattern.
  2. If the lines are unbroken and match the "Good" test pattern, tap the Home icon on the global toolbar to return to the Home screen.
  3. Tap Envelope Printing and if you are still getting the Ink Out error message, proceed to step 4.
  4. Remove the ink cartridge. Refer to Related topics for removing and installing a new ink cartridge.
  5. Examine the 7 gold pins where the ink cartridge engages:

  6. If the pins look ok, proceed to step 7. If any pins are bent or broken, please use the Contact Us options below for further assistance.
  7. Remove and clean the printhead. Refer to Related topics for information on cleaning the printhead.
  8. After you have re-inserted your printhead and ink cartridge, reboot your device:
    1. Unplug the power cable. The screen should turn off after 10 seconds.
    2. Wait 2 minutes.
    3. Plug the power cable back in, ensuring that it is plugged directly into a wall outlet
    4. Quickly tap and release the power button to turn the meter back on.
