Error Code: 12A9, Resolve on the DM550, DM800i and more

Products affected:  DM550™, DM800i™, DM800™, DM825™, DM875™, DM900™, DM925™, DM1000™, DM1100™


The meter displays error code 12A9 and will not run. This error indicates that the WOW is out of calibration and will not function.


This error can occur because:
  • Pieces of paper are stuck in the WOW
  • A mail piece that is too thick was fed through the machine
  • Someone was leaning on cover or "skis" while feeding mail in WOW mode
  • The machine is unlevel or on an unstable table.
Note: When moved, the machine has to be tested and re-calibrated by a service technician.

You may be able to clear the error by restarting your meter. Follow these steps to restart safely:
  1. Turn the power off with the power switch and wait for the display to turn off.
  2. Wait one to three minutes.
  3. Turn the power switch back on.
If the issue is not resolved, contact customer support from 8 am to 8 pm Eastern Time. Please have your model number ready.

Note: You may be able to run mail by changing to a different weighing method.
