How to resolve the reported weight is negative on the DM100i and DM125

Products affected: DM100®i and DM125™

Issue

The message The reported weight is negative is on the screen and the user is unable to weigh a mail piece.

Cause

The scale is not zeroed correctly.

Resolution

UPDATED: January 7, 2016
Remove any items from the scale and press the 3rd button on the left side if the screen to select Zero the Scale. If your still having weighing issues please follow the following steps for a safe reboot.
  1. Unplug the power cord
  2. Remove the scale from the top of the meter
  3. During this time, turn the scale upside down, verify the scale pins are not bent, and remove the 4 rubber pads from the bottom of the scale
  4. Return the scale to the top of the meter
  5. Plug the power cord back in, ensuring that it is plugged directly into a wall outlet
