Issue

Clipping a Voxel Model to Vector Volume results in 0 for the number of polyhedrons in Encom Discover 3D

Cause

The 0 means that there are no closed, non-self intersecting, polyhedrons in the DXF files. Apart from visually inspecting, this can also be checked by selecting:  Features>Import> Vector file and select the DXF file. During the import process a warning dialog is presented noting the corruption in the vector file (the read crosses).

Resolution

UPDATED: October 11, 2017
The issue is with the Solid Generator. In Solid Generator it is recommend enabling "diagnostics" in the output options. This will show errors in the structure produced.
All the polygons should be from 1 single solid body, if that is done then a Tie line is needed to link the sections together.

There is step-by-step instructions in the help for this, please open the help guide and navigate to: Modelling Triangulated Surfaces and Solids > Wireframing Models from Polylines, Polygons and Surfaces > Using Tie Lines to Control Wireframing
