Resolve issue to translate GML or XML files in MapInfo Professional



When trying to translate GML and XML files in the Universal Translator you get and error message 'A fatal error has occurred. Check the logfile above for details'


This happens because the proxy your company has in place is not allowing the Universal Translator to retrieve after sending out a request.

You will need to ask your IT department to look at the proxy place and make some changes so that the links are made accessible.
