Resolve error re-opening a RouteFinder workspace which is looking for ‘’ file

Product: MapInfo Routefinder


When saving a workspace with Routefinder open temporary files will get saved in the workspace as well.

The next time the workspace is started MapInfo complain about table which cannot be found. One of these files is ‘’.

In the workspace opened in a text editor this looks like that:
Open Table "C:\Users\USER NAME\AppData\Local\Temp\~tmpRoute" As TheRoute Interactive



~tmpRoute is a temporary file name which will get deleted from Windows as soon as the MapInfo session ends.

This is categorized as an inconvenience. The workaround would be:
  • Open the workspace
  • Skip the temp tables 
  • Re-save the workspace again afterwards
