"Either Ascent or SendSuite Xpress application is running" message when upgrading Ascent or SendSuite Xpress

Issue

When running an update for Ascent™ or SendSuite® Xpress, the following message is displayed:
 
Either Ascent or SendSuite Xpress application is Running. Please close the application and click "Yes" to continue and "No" to abort setup.

Cause

There are two possible causes of this issue:
  • Ascent or SendSuite Xpress is open on the Master or Peer stations.
  • Ascent or SendSuite Xpress did not close correctly on one or more workstations.

Resolution

UPDATED: October 18, 2019
  1. Close the Ascent or SendSuite Xpress master station and all peer stations.
  2. Attempt to run the update again.
If the error occurs again:
  1. Restart all computers on which Ascent or SendSuite Xpress is run.
  2. Attempt to run the update again.
If the error occurs again, contact software support.
