Poor print quality or not printing on the SendPro C Lite, SendPro C, SendPro+, SendPro C Auto

Products affected: SendPro® C Lite, SendPro® C, SendPro®+, SendPro® C Auto  (2H00, 8H00, 9H00)

Issue

The meter stamp is not printing well. It may be streaked, blurred/fuzzy, partial, or missing completely.

Cause

There is a problem with the printhead or the ink cartridge.

Resolution

To resolve printing issues, watch this video or follow the steps below:


 
  1. Tap the Settings icon on the toolbar.
  2. Scroll down to the Envelope Printer Settings section.
  3. Tap Mail Printer Maintenance.
  4. Tap Print Test Pattern.
  5. When the screen says Print Test Pattern?, feed an envelope or tape sheet into the device.
  6. Compare the printed test pattern to the ones on the screen.
    • If it looks like the good example:
      1. Tap Done.
      2. Tap Home to return to the Home screen.
    • If it looks like the bad example:
      1. Tap Clean Print Nozzle.
      2. After cleaning, you are prompted to print another test pattern.

If you do not see an improvement after cleaning the print nozzle, clean the printhead:

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings.
  2. Scroll down to the Envelope Printer Settings section.
  3. Tap Mail Printer Maintenance.
  4. Tap Install Print Head.
  5. Open the cover as directed on the screen.
  6. Open the green latch over the ink cartridge.
  7. Lift up and remove the ink cartridge.
  8. While squeezing the two gray tabs on either side of the printhead, lift and tilt the printhead to the right as you remove it from the device.
  9. Wipe the copper-colored section of the printhead with a dry, lint-free cloth or foam swab.

  1. Reinstall the printhead in the device, making sure that it clicks into place.
  2. Reinsert the ink cartridge and close the printhead cover.
  3. Close the ink tank access cover. The ink tank mechanism reinitializes.
