Resolve Preset with Invalid Item(s) on the DM500, DM800i and more

Products affected: DM500™, DM525™, DM550™, DM575™, DM800™, DM800i™, DM825™, DM875™, DM900™, DM925™, DM1000™, DM1100™


The meter displays the message Preset with Invalid Item(s) and will not load the preset.


One or more of the items in the preset are no longer valid.

The most common item lost from presets is the rate. Follow these steps to restore any missing rates:
  1. Select Continue with modified preset
  2. Preform a rate download. For directions, see How to update the USPS rates on the DM500, DM800i and more.
  3. If the error returns, you will need recreate the preset. For directions, see How to create a custom preset on the DM500, DM800i and more.
Note: Occasionally the post office eliminates a class. If this is the case, you will need to choose a different class.
