Resolve LicenseException: Check out failed for UNC/USA/RealTime in Spectrum

Operating System: Windows, Linux, UNIX
Product affected: Spectrum™ Technology Platform

Versions: 8 SP3, 9 SP3, 10 SP1, 11 SP1

ERROR [ServiceGateway] com.g1.dcg.stage.LicenseException: Module UNC does not exist in license. Check out failed for UNC/USA/RealTime.

Delivery Point Validation (DPV) is the USA portion of the Universal Address Module (UAM) Validate Address. The error message indicates the DPV feature is being requested to be used in validating an address but the current licensing does not allow the DPV feature.

UPDATED: March 28, 2017
Note: If you believe you should be licensed for UAM DPV processing, contact the Professional Distribution Services or Technical Support to confirm and generate a new permanent key for you.

For Spectrum 10 SP1 and older versions:
  1. Open your Management Console desktop application.
  2. Login with your credentials.
  3. Click through to the Universal Addressing > Services > Validate Address > U.S. Address Options.
  4. Disable the Delivery Point Validation & CMRA option.
For Spectrum 11 SP1 and newer versions:
  • Spectrum will not allow the DPV option to be enabled if there is no license entitlement for it.
If the issue is still not resolved, contact client support.
