ERROR 15822: unknown journal entry type [< 0x3C] was detected, you might be processing an XML journal using a standard journal engine

Issue

My file isn't loading into e2 Vault

Cause

e2 loaderd log (or process log on earlier versions) has the following error

ERROR 15822: unknown journal entry type [< 0x3C] was detected, you might be processing an XML journal using a standard journal engine

Resolution

UPDATED: September 18, 2017
More than likely the profile in question has:

Documents=journal

where it needs to be changed to

Documents=XMLjournal
