Issue

Your meter displays the message "Low Battery" or "Battery Urgent".

Cause

The meter's internal battery is near the end of its life.

Resolution

The "Low Battery" or "Battery Urgent" message occurs when the meter's internal battery is near the end of its life.

Solution 1: Restart your meter and see if your error returns

  1. Unplug the power cord.
  2. Wait one full minute.
  3. Plug the power cord back in, ensuring that it is plugged directly into a wall outlet.
Your meter battery cannot be replaced like an ordinary household battery. It is part of the meter security device that protects your postage funds and requires technical service to replace.
If your battery message returns after restarting, go to Solution 2, as your meter battery must be replaced.

Solution 2: Request battery replacement service

  1. Sign in and create a technical support case to request battery replacement service.
  • Pressing the Clear button may clear the message and allow you to run mail temporarily, but battery replacement service is required.
  • To ensure uninterrupted functionality, you must request battery replacement service (free of charge). Your meter's battery enables your settings and other information to be saved. If you allow your battery to expire, you lose that information.
